Australia Q2 New Capex +4.4%; 3rd Estimate Up

  • Australia total new capital expenditure rose by 4.4% in June quarter, slower than the previous 6.3% increase.
  • Buildings and structures rose by 4.6%, slower than the 3.8% gain in Q1.
  • Equipment, plant and machinery rose by 4.3%, quickly down from the 9.1% increase registered in Q1.
  • Estimate 3 for 2021-22 is $127,701m. This is 12.5% higher than Estimate 2 for 2021-22 of $113,635m.
