Australia Q2 Trimmed Mean CPI +0.5% Q/Q

  • Australia consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.8% q/q in Q2, following previous 0.6% q/q growth.
  • CPI rose 3.8% y/y in Q2, faster than the 1.1% y/y gain recorded in Q1.
  • The most significant price rise was Automotive fuel (+6.5%).
  • Trimmed mean annual inflation was 1.6% in the June quarter, which has increased from 1.1% in the March quarter.
