Azerbaijan Raised Natural Gas Output, Exports In May-Jan YoY

Azerbaijan’s total natural gas production in the first five months of this year rose by 2.9% on the year to 20.2bcm according to data published Tuesday on the State Statistics Committee website.

  • Total natural gas exports in the Jan-May period stood at 10.3bcm, up by 9.6% on the year.
  • Azerbaijan’s natural gas exports to Europe totalled 4.8bcm in Jan-May, compared with 4.5bcm a year earlier.
  • Azerbaijan exports gas to Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, and Romania. The country signed a MoU with the European Commission last year to double the exports by 2027.
  • Gas exports to Turkey in January-May rose to 4.3bcm, up from 3.6bcm a year earlier.
