Azerbaijan’s Jan-Oct Gas Exports Rose 8.2% YoY

Azerbaijan’s natural gas exports in Jan-Oct stood at 19.8bcm, up by 8.2% year on year, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on X.

  • Europe imported 9.8bcm during January-October, Shahbazov said. This is up from 9.3bcm for the same period last year, data from the Energy Ministry shoed.
  • Natural gas exports to Turkey rose to 8.1bcm in the first ten months of this year, up from 6.9bcm last year.
  • Azerbaijan’s natural gas production rose by 4.2% in the year to 40.1bcm during January-October, Shahbazov added.
  • The country previously announced plans to double European natural gas exports by 2027, however, talks have stalled as the country failed to secure long-term gas deals with the bloc, which it needed to boost investment.
  • Azerbaijan is planning to export 0.4bcm of natural gas to Serbia next year, according to Bloomberg.
