Back end strip under renewed pressure

SONIA
  • Seems that the Gilt push lower, has been led by some notable steepening move in the SONIA strip in the past hour, with the likes of SFIH5 losing 8 ticks during that period.
  • The Red and Green strip underperforms and SFIH5 now targets 95.09 support, with some desks looking for higher for longer Rate outlook.
  • The UK CPI on the open did help on the European open, but Rate futures markets were steady between 08.30 and 12.00BST, with most of the gradual selling starting at 12.43BST
