Balikpapan Refinery Set for September 2025 Upgrade Completion

Indonesia’s Pertamina is expected to revamp its Balikpapan refinery to 360,000 bpd from 260,000 bpd by September 2025 according to official reports.

  • The completion of some units, like the RFCC have faced delays.
  • "We have two remaining milestones, completion of the RFCC and gasoline block," a company spokesperson said.
  • The refinery will be able to handle lower quality crude and produce higher quality refined products after the revamp.
