Baltic Pipe Flows Reach Max Capacity at Times in August

NATURAL GAS

Gas flows through the Baltic Pipe have seen a gradually increase in the last couple of months reaching daily flows up to the maximum rate of 10bcm/year at times during August according to Energinet.

  • Daily flows have climbed from about 4bcm/yr at the start of the year to 6bcm/yr in June and 8bcm/yr in July.
  • Flows were fairly low following the pipeline opening in October 2022 but have seen a steady increase this summer with higher flows supporting efforts to fill storages before winter in Poland, the Baltic and CEE countries, including Ukraine.
