UK: Barclays latest Brexit survey shows that only 20% of investors expect there
to be a transitional agreement at March EU Summit, with two thirds seeing it
delayed to the October EU summit or beyond.
- As for the the future relationship deal, Barclays says that "63% of investors
think negotiations will continue after March 2019 deadline but conclude before
end of transitional period". Although 24% "do not expect the UK and EU to
finalise" a trade deal before the transition period ends.
- On PM May, Barclays says "it appears investors have greater confidence" that
she will remain leader and has "appeased some domestic dissent".
- The survey was conducted after EU's draft exit treaty and PM May's Mansion
House speech, Barclays add.
