BAX Futures Pare Gains In Two-Way Trade Ahead Of First BoC Minutes

  • BAX futures trade only slightly richer across the curve having twice now pared gains, most recently in spillover from NY Fed’s Williams.
  • The Dec’23 is again the most actively traded so far and lags other contracts increasing 0.02-0.03 out to mid-2024.
  • The sizeable trimming of cuts, a trend over recent weeks that accelerated with Friday’s payrolls, has slowed notably today with BAM3/Z3 at -0.320, at least partly supported by former BOC special adviser Spence seeing an ease later this year as “pretty compelling”.
