  • The dollar index is 0.3% above the Friday close, mainly due to the spike higher in USDJPY and the resulting, albeit brief, breach of the 125.00 mark. The US economic calendar remains relatively light for the rest of the week as we approach Friday’s April Non-Farm Payrolls report.
  • Highlights for the LatAm schedule today include the latest Focus survey results from the BCB (delayed until 10am local), as well as Mexico Trade and Current Account Balance data.
  • Chile (Tuesday) and Colombia (Thursday) Central Banks are both expected to accelerate the pace of their tightening cycles with 175bp and 150bp hikes expected respectively according to the median surveyed estimates.
