BCCh Economist Survey Due At 1130GMT, President Boric Speaks

  • The BCCh will publish its latest economist survey at 1130GMT(0730ET), with the usual interest rate forecasts for the coming meetings. At the January MPC meeting, the central bank kept its policy rate unchanged and signalled an extended pause ahead amid mounting inflation risks. Following that meeting, many analysts saw the policy rate remaining on hold through the first half of this year, with potentially some room for modest rate cuts in the second half. The next BCCh MPC meeting is scheduled for March 21.

  • In other news, President Boric said yesterday that Defence Minister Maya Fernandez had resigned and would be replaced by Adriana Delpiano.
