US President Joe Biden is holding a bilateral meeting with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
- A livestream of reception after the event can be followed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-sAMit-_oO8
- The meeting comes during a tense time for internal NATO politics. Biden will be hoping to convince the Greek PM to take a firmer position on Russian energy imports while Mitsotakis is likely to push for action on Turkey after a diplomatic incident between the two NATO members last week.
- Greek government spokesperson Yiannis Economou noted that the 'issue of Turkish provocations will be raised; after all, Kyriakos Mitsotakis has already raised the issue of Turkish overflights above Greek territory as an issue that undermines and endangers the cohesion of NATO, at a time when stability is required.'
- Mitsotakis will deliver an address to Congress tomorrow, the first in person address from a visiting leader since COVID-19 altered Hill rules.
