  • The White House statement says: “To date, the Biden-Harris Administration has approved $127 billion in debt cancellation for nearly 3.6 million borrowers.”
  • The Washington Post notes: “The administration announced in August that it would forgive $39 billion in student debt after the Supreme Court in June blocked its earlier debt cancellation plan.”
  • Today's remarks will be Biden's first public appearance since the House of Representatives yesterday voted to eject Rep Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for the speaker's chair.
