Biden's Approval Rating Hits Record Low

US

President Biden's aggregated approval rating has today hit 37.6%, marking a record low of his presidency, according to FiveThirtyEight.

  • Biden's approval rating briefly dipped below 38% during July of 2022, the peak of uncertainty over inflation and spiraling energy prices associated with the war in Ukraine.
  • Although Biden appears outwardly dismissive of polling, the extended run of negative polling which began earlier this year during the standoff with Republicans over the debt ceiling, is likely to prompt more questions about his suitability for a second term during the Christmas break.
  • Biden said in ad hoc remarks to reporters following a speech on Ukraine funding yesterday: "I'm not the only one who can defeat [Trump], but I will defeat him."
