Biden's Job Approval Rating Sinks On Inflation, Crime & Covid: ABC Poll
The latest ABC/Ipsos poll shows that U.S. President Joe Biden's job approval has fallen across a range of major issues, with his scores for the handling of crime, gun violence and the economic recovery hitting new lows.
- 69% of all respondents said they disapprove of the President's handling of inflation, with only 28% approving. The partisan split in responses was evident, albeit with only a slim majority of Democratic voters expressing approval. More than half (57%) of respondents said they did not approve of Biden's handling of the economic recovery.
- Although the net rating of Biden's handling of Covid-19 remained positive, the level of approval slipped to the lowest point since he took office. A narrow majority (51%) of respondents supported the vaccine mandate for federal employees and contractors.
- Just 36% of respondends said they approve of Biden's handling of crime, down from 43% in the previous ABC/Ipsos poll from late October. The approval of his handling of gun violence fell to 32% from 39%, amid rising rates of violence across the country.
