BOE Expands On Plan To Unwind Financial Stability Gilt Purchases

  • Expanding on the Nov 10 announcement that the Bank was looking to unwind its portfolio of index-linked and long-dated gilts that were purchased between Sep 28 – Oct 14, the BoE has issued a more detail market notice, link here.
  • Reuters highlights:
    • It will run a series of reverse enquiry windows to sell gilts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
    • It will set out minimum price levels for gilts, with both-index-linked and long-dated conventional gilts offered for sale at each window.
    • It won’t accept bids for gilts that are below prevailing market mid prices.
