SOUTH KOREA: Bond Futures Higher After US Rate Pause,
SOUTH KOREA
- Korea’s bond futures are all higher today as markets react to the US rate pause.
- The 10YR future is higher by +0.24 at 119.17, its highest level this week.
- Today’s gains see the 10YR breach the 200-day EMA of 119.10 and now sits above all major moving averages.
- The slope of the moving averages has flattened out indicating no real trend is in place at present.
- The 3YR future is higher today by +0.07 at 106.86, ending five straight days of losses.
- The 3 YR has trended below all major moving averages since early March with the 20-day EMA the nearest at 106.992.
- KTB’s are very strong today with yields up to -3.5bps lower. KTB 3YR 2.605 (-2.5bps) and KTB 10YR 2.80% (-2bp).
- Tomorrow sees the release of the February PPI and first 20 days of trade data.
