MNI BRIEF: EU's Kallas Lowers Ukraine Arms Support Ambition

MNI (BRUSSELS) - The European Union will prioritise Ukraine's smaller imminent military needs after some member states including Hungary, Spain, France and Italyy moved to block an earlier plan to mobilise EUR20 billion to EUR40 billion to buy arms for the country, EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas said on Thursday 

"The realistic plan is the EUR5bn for the ammunition which is what we are working on right now," Kallas told reporters as she went into the EU summit talks in Brussels here today.
