Boric Lead In Polls Weighs On CLP, Trade Data In Focus

  • CHILE – The Chilean peso came under pressure yesterday with the latest Presidential Poll from Cadem indicating left-wing candidate Gabriel Boric has retaken the lead.
  • For reference, Boric's top score in Cadem's surveys was 30% in late July but the two leading candidates had drawn level in the prior poll.
  • Key resistance for USDCLP remains at 7.8750, Aug 27 high.
  • Overnight, America Elects Twitter account released results of a Cadem/Plaza Pública poll:
    • Boric (AD, left): 31% (+4)
    • Sichel (ChV, liberal to conservative): 25% (-2)
    • Provoste (NPS, centre-left to liberal): 16% (-2)
