Brent Open Interest Reduces After Seeing Recovery in October

ICE Brent aggregate open interest has fallen back with the expiry of the Dec 22 futures after showing a gradual increase for much of October. WTI open interest has recovered slightly in the last two weeks but is still only just above the lowest since 2014.

  • ICE Brent is now just over 31% below the peak in 2021, Nymex WTI is down 42% and ICE Gasoil is down nearly 54%
