Bulgaria’s Bulgartransgaz has received full payments for natural gas transit through Bulgaria due for December, according to acting Energy Minister Vadimir Malinovo cited BTA.

  • Bulgartransgaz is continuing to work on discussing alternative payment options within the framework of the sanctions, he added, which would allow transit payment for future months.
  • "We still do not have official information from the US administration, sent in the official order, about the lifting of sanctions against Gazprombank," the minister said.
  • The minister previously stated that Bulgaria won’t allow gas transit through its infrastructure without due payments.
  • Gazprombank sanctions take full effect from Dec. 20.
