CABLE: Cable consolidated within a range of $1.2810-26 through Asia and into
Europe, with risk aversion in control after PBOC fixed the CNY at a soft level
which in turn weighed on equities. USD currently on the front foot ahead of
month-end as early models suggest strong USD buy signals.
- The pair eased Thursday afternoon on the back of another bout of USD strength,
printing session lows, sub-$1.2800, on the back of a late BBG headline noting
that Brexit talks on hold with UK PM May's team in disagreement.
- Equity markets being watched as a barometer for risk. Market remains on Brexit
headline watch.
- Highlights today include UK sovereign debt ratings by S&P and Fitch. Focus
next week falls on BoE MonPol decision accompanied by the quarterly inflation
report, followed by BoE Gov. Carney's press conference on Thursday.
