CABLE
CABLE: Cable has round tripped to its early session high of $1.3069, as the
Commons passed the "Cooper-Letwin" Bill, after voting on a series of amendments
submitted by the Lords. The bill has already received the royal assent and thus
has become law. As a reminder, the bill forces the gov't to avoid a no-deal
Brexit. Should there be no parliamentary support for any Brexit deal by the Apr
12 deadline, the gov't has to seek a further extension to Article 50.
- GBP/USD last seen unch. at $1.3061. Initial resistance noted at the 50-DMA &
55-DMA, both located at $1.3094. Conversely, bears eye Monday's low of $1.3027.
- On Monday, cable advanced 23 pips after operating in a ~50 pip range through
the day, with broader USD weakness lending support to the pair.
- Elsewhere on the Brexit front, the Telegraph reported that PM May is weighing
a free parliamentary vote on the second Brexit referendum to break the deadlock
in cross-party talks with Labour. This came after Labour's Corbyn criticised the
gov't for "not moving from their Brexit red lines."
- PM May will meet with German Chancellor Merkel & French President Macron on
Tuesday, ahead of Wednesday's emergency EU summit.
