CABLE: Cable last trades flattish at $1.2079 after adding 43 pips yesterday.
After edging lower from the off yesterday, the rate advanced through London
hours. It had a brief look above $1.2100, but after failing to make much headway
beyond there it eased off from highs.
- Bears target yesterday's multi-year low of $1.2015, bulls eye $1.2100.
- U.S. National Security Advisor Bolton visited London yesterday, expressing
support for a "successful exit from the EU on Oct 31" and offering the UK
sector-by-sector post-Brexit trade deals.
- BBG reported that the UK gov't doesn't exp. Brussels to soften its stance for
at least a month, as it will watch the MPs' attempts to prevent a disorderly
divorce. An unnamed cabinet minister told the Sun that PM Johnson thinks the EU
will make a new Brexit deal w/ him to avoid disastrous consequences for Ireland.
Elsewhere, per the Telegraph, 54% of polled UK adults said that if needed, PM
Johnson should prorogue parliament to force a no-deal Brexit.
- UK labour mkt report will be published today. Inflation data hits on
Wednesday, while retail sales come out on Thursday.
