* Eur/Gbp: NY range Gbp0.8760-85. Asia open Gbp0.8771, range Gbp0.8769-83.

Europe open Gbp0.8780. 

* Cable recovered off Thursday low of $1.3345 to a pre fix high of $1.3456 then

settled around $1.3440 into the close. 

* Eur/Gbp, which had spiked to a high of Gbp0.8810, dropped back almost as quick

to Gbp0.8760 into the fix. 

* Cross settled between Gbp0.8765/70 into the close but picked up demand in Asia

which edged it to Gbp0.8783. 

* Cable drifted off through Asia to $1.3408 before gaining a lift back to

$1.3423 into Europe. 

* Late Asia sterling demand also pressed back on Eur/Gbp to take it back to

Gbp0.8775(Possible end month demand watched for)
