DOLLAR-CANADA: CAD was pressured by diminished risk appetite stemming from
worries re: US-China trade issues & lower oil prices following weekend reports
that Saudi & Russia will push for an increase in OPEC+ crude production in Q3.
- USDCAD has eased from session highs as WTI stabilised just off of session
lows.
- The cross last deals 5 pips lower at C$1.3180, back from highs of C$1.3208.
- Bulls are eying C$1.3257 (9 month bull channel projection).
- BoC's Patterson is due to speak later today, but CAD traders are focused on
Friday with domestic CPI & retail sales data due, as well as the OPEC+ summit in
Vienna.
