California’s natgas prices are slightly up on the day amid a tick up in demand. This is limited by slightly higher pipeline inflows.

  • SoCal City Gate is up around 8 cents/MMBtu, while PG&E City Gate is up 6.5 cents/MMBtu, according to NGI.
  • Total Californian gas demand is up 600 mcf/d to 7.25 bcf/d. The 30-day average is 7.29 bcf/d.
  • End user demand up 570 mcf/d at 6.37 bcf/d on the day. This compares to the 30-day average of 6.41 bcf/d.
  • Exports to Mexico are up marginally to 389 mcf/d today from 383 mcf/d the previous day.
  • Net gas inflows via pipeline are 45 mcf/d higher on the day at 5.71 bcf/d. This is above the 30-day average of 5.45 bcf/d.
  • Small rises in flows on El Paso, Kern River, and North Baja are offsetting falls on Mohave and Transwestern.
