“Calm” Outlook for EU Gas Although Market Fragile: Montel

The CEOs of Italian TSO Snam and utility Edson consider the short-term gas price outlook for Europe “calm”, but warn the market remains fragile, Montel said.
- “We see a situation of relative calm regarding gas supplies," Snam’s Stefano Venier told Montel. “There aren’t any particularly disruptive situations in the market at the moment.”
- Pricing for winter depends on temperatures and a range of factors that make it difficult to predict.
- LNG prices are expected to remain stable unless another crisis occurs and changes the fundamental dynamics, with no shortage of volumes expected, Edison’s Nicola Monti told Montel.
- Tensions in the Middle East have so far had no impact in terms of supply, with flows now rerouted away from the Red Sea.
