Castillo Names New Defence Minister, Congress Vote On BCRP Members

  • Peru President Pedro Castillo will appoint Juan Manuel Carrasco Millones as Defense Minister, radio network RPP reported.
    • Carrasco Millones, a lawyer, rejoins the cabinet after resigning as Castillo's Interior Minister in Oct. following the departure of Guido Bellido as Prime Minister
    • Additionally, Jorge Luis Prado was sworn in as Peru's Minister of Production
  • Separately, Peru's Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Wednesday affirmed that the Ministerial Cabinet that she leads is completely unified and that its members are working together to drive the development of the country.
