Castillo Rating Improves Off Lows, MMG Progressively Halting Operations

  • As noted yesterday, President Castillo, saw his approval rating increase to 26% in November from 23% in September, according to the latest Datum poll.
    • Additionally, Prime Minister Torres’ approval rose to 27% in November from 22% in August in the same survey.
  • MMG’s Las Bambas copper mine in Peru said it’s progressively halting operations since Oct. 31 due to blockades, according to statement sent via text message. Community protests continue to add lingering headwinds for Peruvian production.
