Castillo's Third Interior Minister Resigns

  • Peru’s Interior Minister Avelino Guillen has tendered a letter of resignation to President Pedro Castillo, newspaper La Republica reported.
    • Guillen sent the letter after Castillo failed to support him in a dispute with national police commander Javier Gallardo over the promotion of senior police officers. (BBG)
    • Guillen is Castillo’s third interior minister since taking office.
