  • Erdogan says he expects US-Turkey economic trade volumes to grow to $21bn by end 2021 reach their full potential ($100bn) speaking in New York to the Turkey-US business council.
    • Notes volumes are currently at $21bn with Turkey becoming the US' third largest export market. Highlights potential cooperation on energy, security, defense & investment where differences of opinions can be settled with dialogue
  • 4-day Turkey Tribunal in Geneva kicked off yesterday discussing human rights violations committed by Turkey under the Erdogan Govt.
    • Tribunal seeks to address violations including torture, forced disappearances, abductions from foreign countries , freedom of press and expression with accounts from 15 witnesses.
    • Rulings (non-legally binding) will be announced on 24 Sept. Depending on the verdict, the tribunal is expected to apply to the international criminal court
