CHINA: Central state-owned enterprises maintained robust growth in the first
nine months of the year, the chief accountant of the State-owned Assets
Supervision and Administration Commission, Shen Ying, said at a press conference
in Beijing on Thursday. Profits at the 98 central SOEs rose 24% in the first
nine months, with 64% of the growth contributed by industrial SOEs, Shen said.
Central SOEs' revenue grew 8.3% in September from August -- a historic high --
and increased 15.4% in the first three quarters, Shen said.
