Centrica Tests Injections to Rough Storage

NATURAL GAS

Centrica Storage is carrying out “injection commissioning” at the Rough storage facility in UK after commencing tests over the weekend.

  • Centrica has not yet announced details on the injections, but the return of the storage site will be gradual.
  • The facility will initially take around 800mcm this winter which is about a quarter of total capacity and would be enough gas to cover nearly 4 days at current demand of around 215mcm/d or just over 2 days of peak demand last winter at 350mcm/d.
  • The aim is to double available capacity to 1.7bcm for next winter.
