Chevron Delays Spot LNG Cargoes on Potential Industrial Action

Chevron is delaying plans to sell some LNG spot market cargoes from its 15.6mtpa Gorgon LNG facility as labor union members continue to consider potential industrial action according to traders.

  • Australia’s Fair Work Commission on Monday authorized workers at Chevron’s Wheatstone offshore platform to hold a vote on strike action, after previously granting similar requests for staff at the Wheatstone and Gorgon downstream facilities and at Woodside’s North West Shelf.
  • Talks between the union and Chevron and Woodside were scheduled to continue today.
