China Bonded Bunker Fuel Consumption Jumped in January

OIL PRODUCTS

China's bonded bunker fuel sales volume totaled 1.85 million tonnes in January according to OilChem, up 15% m/m, and 13% y/y, propped up by a surge in the domestic LSFO production, higher international shipping demand and falling oil prices.

  • OilChem forecasts that the bonded bunker fuel sales volume may edge down in February, with lower LSFO production and weaker end-user demand during the Chinese New Year holiday.
