China Refined Product Exports Up 13% MoM In July

OIL PRODUCTS

China’s exports of refined oil products reached 3.15m mt in July, according to OIlChem, an increase of 13% on June levels.

  • The exports comprised some 1.22m mt of gasoline, 1.05m mt of gasoil, and 0.89m of kerosene.
  • The increase was primarily driven by a consumption boost in the US, which increased the profitability of Chinese exports. The export profits of gasoline averaged 668 y/t in East China, up 360 y/t from June.
  • Gasoil profits remained firm with exports averaging a profit of 703 y/t amid refinery maintenance in Europe and Asia.
  • Planned exports of products in August are 3.23m mt, down from 562k mt on July’s planned levels because of diminishing export quotas. However, exports may be ramped up if the third batch of export quotas is released in August.
