China’s SRFO Production Falls in Nov

OIL PRODUCTS

Production of straight run low sulphur fuel oil from China’s refineries fell 8% on the month to 848k mt in November, according to OilChem.

  • OilChem attributes the continued monthly declines in production to a lack of export quotas.
  • China’s refineries have used nearly 92% of low sulphur fuel exports. Moreover, 93% of all SRFO produced has been exported, OilChem said.
  • OilChem forecasts that the continued scarcity of export quotas will be the largest headwind for SRFO production, with volumes possibly falling as low as 700k mt in December.
