China’s Traffic Falls to Seasonal Low: BNEF

China’s traffic congestion fell by more than 37% in the week to May 8, down to 97% of Jan. 2021 levels, according to BNEF.

  • This marks the second lowest point of the year to date, BNEF said.
  • The fall around the country’s Labor Day holiday followed several weeks of gradual upticks after a large decline in traffic during the Qingming Festival in early April.
  • BNEF expects traffic levels to recover once again over the next few weeks, tracking seasonal trends.
