US TSYS/RESEARCH: Citi analysts Jason Williams noted the most recent "TIC data
released this week for June showed that foreign holders bought $53 billion of
long-term Treasury securities, after May purchases of $27 billion. These figures
are reported at market value."
- He adds that "on a valuation adjusted basis, we estimate foreign holders
bought $91 billion of long-term Treasury securities, after buying $9 billion in
May. This is the largest purchase in a month since March 2014. Foreign holdings
of T-bills decreased by $5 billion in June after an increase of $22 billion in
May."
