CNB's Frait Speaks At Banking Conference, Labour Minister To Comment On Pension Reforms

  • The latest CTK opinion poll showed that if a general election was held today, the main opposition ANO movement would win with 29.5%. In a scenario where all parties would run separately, the poll put Prime Minister Petr Fiala's ODS on 20% and his coalition partners from the Pirate Party on 11%. Meanwhile, the Spolu coalition (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-CSL) could garner 27.5% of the vote. The survey estimated the predicted turnout at 61.5%.
  • Thousands of people gathered in Prague to protest against the government yesterday. The protest was called by the non-parliamentary PRO party.
  • The focus turns to comments from Czech officials. CNB's Jan Frait speaks at a banking conference this morning, while Labour Minister Marian Jurecka will comment on the planned changes to the pension system at 13:00BST/14:00CEST.
