CNB & Supreme Court Criticise Asset Checks For New "Super Benefit"

CZECHIA
  • The CNB and the Supreme Court have criticised the method for evaluating the eligibility for the planned "super benefit," Lidove Noviny reported. The new combined benefit will only be granted to households with a maximum of two properties, one car per adult and CZK200k of savings per family member. The central bank, the top court and other institutions have reportedly argued that the current method of evaluation, which would require banks to share sensitive details with social security authorities, would breach the widely recognised standards of bank secrecy.
  • EUR/CZK consolidated below its 200-DMA yesterday after sinking through the 100- and 50-DMAs over the past couple of months, with the RSI staying in oversold territory.
