CNR-Xi: China's Security Increasingly Unstable, Uncertain

China's state-run CNR reporting comments from President Xi Jinping as he inspected the Joint Operations Command Center of the Central Military Commission. States that, "the world is undergoing profound changes unseen in a century [...] increasing instability and uncertainty in [China's] security situation, and arduous tasks in the military struggle."

  • States that China, "Will comprehensively strengthen military training and preparation".
  • Tensions remain elevated globally, with the West viewing China as an increasingly close partner of Russia on the global stage. Also security concerns regionally, as an escalation of missile launches from North Korea has seen South Korea, Japan, and the United States warning of severe consequences for Pyongyang, a long-standing ally of Beijing.
