COLOMBIA: Ecopetrol Importing Diesel Due To Pipeline Attacks

  • Ecopetrol said that it is importing 1.64m bbl of diesel as recent attacks to the Cano Limon-Covenas and Bicentenario pipelines have disrupted crude deliveries to its Barrancabermeja refinery. In a statement, Ecopetrol said that it has enough inventories of fuel but as a precautionary measure is importing supplies.
  • Separately, Ecopetrol said that it is planning a $500mn partial pre-payment of the $1bn loan it acquired with international banks due in September 2030. The company said it will make an early payment on Oct 18, using a $250mn credit from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and its own resources.
