Confusion Over Vaccine Export Block As Aus Min Asks For Review

Nick Gutteridge at The Sun tweets: "EU Commission says it's 'not aware of any specific request' from the Australian government for it to review the decision to block the export of 250,000 AstraZeneca vaccines from Italy. Australian health minister Greg Hunt says Canberra has asked for such a review. [Australian Trade Minister Dan Tehan] and EU trade commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis spoke on the phone about this very issue this morning. The two sides obviously understood the upshot of that call rather differently. According to the Commission he explained how the export ban works and 'reassured' him there will be no issues related to shipments by companies that are honouring their contracts with the EU."
