Consumer Job Security Lifts Off Lowest Since 2020
CANADA DATA
- The Bloomberg Nanos consumer survey saw overall confidence lift slightly last week from 51.7 to 52.0, a small move after two declines worth a total 1.7pps.
- The perception of net job security is of more note, rising 2pts after the prior week falling 0.7pts to 39.9% for its lowest since Aug 2020 (applying half weights to the “somewhat” secure and not secure categories).
- This net share is still relatively depressed though, having trended lower since mid-February, with a drift from those deeming their current roles as secure towards unsure rather than outright unsecure.
