  • President Trump indicated that visiting Indian Prime Minister Modi has agreed to enter into trade negotiations in a bid to address the US trade deficit, whilst openly criticizing India for the tariffs they place on US goods.  The President indicated that the US will in return place an equal level of tariffs on Indian made goods coming into the US.  (source: MNI – Market News)

  • INR: The rupee is opening marginally stronger on light volumes but is on track to deliver gain of +0.6% for the week.
  • Bonds: India’s 10YR is poised to finish flat on the week at 6.70% marking a third successive week of low volatility.
