CPI the Focus, With Y/Y Expected to Climb North of CBR Forecast

  • The finance ministry's latest inflation forecasts see CPI at 4.5% next year. CPI data due later today is forecast to show CPI rising to 7.53% from 6.69% prior, and above the CBR central projection.
  • ITAR-TASS cite public polling as seeing confidence in Putin unchanged at 78.5%, as the survey results look to capture the run-up to next year's Presidential election, set for March.
  • Budget data for Jan-Nov from this morning showed the deficit at RUB 878bln - equivalent to 0.5% of GDP.
  • Cabinet ministers appear across a number of different events Friday, with Putin presenting awards at the Kremlin, Lavrov at a security forum in Abu Dhabi, Novak at an exhibition in Moscow, in attendance with Siluanov.
