Crude Processed by Russian Refineries Falls Amid Maintenance

OIL

The average daily oil-processing rates at Russian refineries has fallen to the lowest since late May amid the peak seasonal downstream maintenance according to Bloomberg.

  • Crude processed by refineries in the week to 20 Sep fell by nearly 100kbpd from the previous week to 5.2mbpd.
  • Russian refinery runs have averaged 5.3mbpd so far in September with maintenance expected to continue for the next several weeks and peak offline capacity until mid-October.
  • The government last week announced a temporary ban on nearly all diesel and gasoline exports from 21 Sep with no clear end date to help boost domestic supplies during the maintenance period.
