Czech Republic Boosting Gas Storage

Czech gas storage levels have reached more than 40% as of Monday according to Industry Minister Jozef Sikela today. The country, along with other EU nations have been pushing to increase their storage levels ahead of next winter to try to ensure a level of gas security given the issues related to Russian flows.

  • The latest figures from Germany today also show its domestic gas storage levels around the 40% mark.
  • The EU has set a target of 80% storage for domestic European gas storage by November 1, rising to 90% for following years. The EU refer to sufficient gas storage in Europe as a joint responsibility that will benefit everyone.
